But a perfectionist would never get on a bus he/she isn’t driving, right?!

Washington, DC is a city of perfectionists. To some, it appears that it’s actually possible to be perfect here. But there is a high cost to this ideal. The stress, the lack of sleep, lack of real relationships, hopelessness and depression are a few of them that quickly come to mind.

Are you highly critical of other people? Are you always unsatisfied? Do you crave closeness to other people but don’t let others get close to you? If yes, then your perfectionism is definitely driving the bus in your life.

I was featured on a podcast called The Big Life where Ingrid, Lina and I hash out the life of a perfectionist. We tackle what perfectionism really is, how it is related to procrastination, how it is different than “working hard” and how easily we fall into the super-human complex and ultimately how to overcome this phenomenon.

Here’s a link for you to listen:

Is the perfectionist inside of you telling you to stop reading this? It’s time to give her/him a new job and allow the other parts of you an equal space in how you find satisfaction in life.

This is hard work AND absolutely possible to accomplish.
